So, I have woken up today a little fired up, as they say. Hopefully, the following will fire you up too and you will help educate others about how we as a nation are being grossly deceived and manipulated by agribusiness and corporate interests.

So, Tyson has antibiotic free chicken... really? Well, how would you define antibiotic free? For Tyson, you can inject the eggs that the chicken will hatch out of with antibiotics... you can lace their feed with antibiotics (because everyone knows that chickens will selectively eat around the antibiotic pellets ground into and mixed with the feed!)... and as long as you don't inject the chickens themselves with antibiotics, viola! Antibiotic free chicken!
... Or, to label it accurately, a complete and total lie. Perhaps they will remove the anitibiotics from the feed and the eggs and just aerosal it into the "free range" hen houses containing 20,000 birds so they can keep their free fange and antibiotic free labels that unwary consumers trust.

(BTW, Tyson may supply many "house" brands of chicken that are also improperly called antibiotic free, such as Kroger, Meijers, etc...).

Let's move on to organic milk... do you envision lush, green pastures filled with happily mowing and moving cows? Check out the Cornucopia Institute article on "organic" dairy and organic farm picture galleries covering the major "organic" milk producers at play here in the US. Needless to say, it is hard for a cow to find grass to graze amidst all the sand, dirt, and rock that comprises their pastures... and even if they could, at 2000 plus head, that's not much grass per cow!

Friends, we and our neighbors are being deceived so that coporate giants can go on making their billions, protected by our elected officials whose pockets they line with favors and gold, while people, animals, and the earth suffer. We have been blatantly lied to and abused. And most of us welcome it, receive it, and don't make a peep about it.

The question is, how much more abuse are Americans willing to gleefully take so that they can preserve their fading wealth and security? Better yet, how much more are you?

So, a little more. Posted today at a few yahoo groups... friends, how many must suffer so that we can have our cheap food, our plastic toys, our tons of junk? Imagine being a farmer and being sued by a multi trillion dollar international corporation because a GM crop was blown into your field by wind or rain or dropped by a bird or beast(or purposefully by an angry neighbor). Imagine watching your whole town destroyed by the companies pollution, only for the company to re-incorporate to help keep the class action lawsuit tied up in the courts for decades while you and your loved ones waste away and die of terrible diseases... and sit down to dinner and enjoy the GM crops and other foods that comprise 80% of what American's eat.
